Club News

 

Social held on 24th February. Minutes of Committee meeting circulated to members. If anybody who could not attend want a copy please let me know and I will forward it to you.

First meeting of the year held at The Vine, Coates and from reactions of members attending there was a positive start to the season. The next meeting is on Tuesday 24th January and will include a formal meeting so if members have any ideas  as to what they would like to do over the year please raise it at this time. The only way to make the club a success is for members to take part. 

From 10th January 2012 the club will be meeting at The Vine 4 South Green, Coates. PE7 2BJ.

AGM Held on 6th December 2011

Minutes

1) Apologies received from Wayne, Dale, Bob, Andy, Trevor.

2) Minutes from previous meeting agreed.

3) Secretary's report given. Terry also stated that due to work commitments he would not be standing for secretary again.

4)  Chairman's  report given .

5) Treasurers report. Details of accounts circulated to all members present.

6) Election of committee Chairman - Dave Saddington

                                      Vice Chairman - To be confirmed with Bob Sailsbury who had sent his apologies 

                                      Secretary - vacant post at this time. Any member wishing to take this post please.

                                      Treasurer - Paul Foster

7) Discussion on venue for future meeting place discussed. Members voted that we should move. Steering group will now look into a venue and report back to club ASAP.

8) Membership fees to remain as previous , that is £6 for single and £10 joint membership.

9) AOB involved general discussion on future of club and the venue.

   All agreed to continue with affiliation with BMF for 2012 and Ray will arrange payment in lieu of vacant  secretary  post.

    In view of fact that AGM held on this date next meeting will be on 20/12/11 instead of 13/12/11

10) Date of next AGM to be confirmed as soon as new calender for 2012 confirmed.

CLUB AGM IS ON TUESDAY 6TH DECEMBER 2011 AT 7.30PM

 

Total Vision Motorcycle Club are organising a Christmas Charity Appeal (Mayors Motorcycle Ride)

They are to meet at Tesco's Hampton car park at 10am on Saturday 10th December 2011. There will then be an hour long ride around the area leaving at 11am. They will be collecting donations of foodstuffs for the older folk.

 

The club has been invited to the inaugural meeting of Peterborough MAG. This is being held at 7.30pm on Friday 11th November at the Fox & Hounds, Thorpe Road, Longthorpe, Peterborough. If anyone is interested you are invited to pop in.

Meeting 4/10/11

1) Meeting chaired by vice chairman Bob

2) Friends of St Marys Church had invited us to take part in Christmas Tree Festival. This takes part over     weekend    9 to 11th December.

3) Kings Lynn Mayor appeal this year is on 5th November. 

4) Sunday 13/11/11 Remembrance Day, Duxford is open for the day with free entry .

5) AGM is on Tuesday 6th December. Important as many members possible attend if the club is to progress.

6) Stafford Classic Bike Show is on 15/16th October.

7) Christmas Social discussed but no thoughts expressed on the subject.

8) Wayne proposed vote of thanks to those members who took part with their motorcycles in the Whittlesey Festival.

9) Meeting closed at 9pm.

Notes of meeting for 9/8/11 chaired by Chairman.

 
1 Apolgies  Terry Boyden
2 Discussion on anniversary event for 17th September. Lengthy discussion took place and at the end vote was to cancel planned event. Suggested by member that we had a ride out on this day and stop of for a meal at some location (to be decided). All members and ex members to be invited.
3 BMF Lincoln. No further update at this time other than the club has applied for a pitch at the show.
4 Greater Peterborough MCC have us on their text alerts for ride outs but alot of these are very short notice but anything of interest will be passed onto members ASAP.
5 The club web site has some emails from people interested in coming to the club and we hope to attract some more.
6 There are one or two events coming up details will be put on web page for rides and events. 
7 Meeting closed.

 

 

 

Ride on 26th July was well attended and a good evening was had by all that attended..

Next meeting on Tuesday 9th August and important if you can attend as couple of events to discuss.

 

Meeting 12/7/11

 a) Some members attended Boston Bike night and had a good ride. Understand McDonalds was on menu on return trip instead of a pint?

b) Members attended New Rd school for the fete.

c) Sawtry MCC was visited and reported to be first class event.

d) Have added some events to Ride?Event page if anyone is interested.

e) Club would like to put on a stand at BMF tail end Lincoln so Terry will arrange.Sept 10/11

f) On 26th July there will be a ride instead of the social at Childers.

g) The photos we have for display need updating so if you have any suitable dig them out. E-mail to members to follow.

h) Reminder of club anniversary event on 17th September.

 

Boston bike night is Thursday 7th July so there is a ride out meeting at Buttercross at 6pm ready for prompt departure by 6.30pm.

The club has been invited by Sawtry M/C club to visit them on Saturday 9th July. They have a BBQ and  live music. This is from 1pm onwards so could well be  a ride out. More to follow.

BMF  Those helping meet 4pm Friday 13th at Colin Whites to load trailer or at the showground about 5pm to erect the stand which is C5-3.

Those who could not make this meeting and intend attending show should contact Chairman Dave.

 

 

19/4/2011 Social / Ride

Very good ride to Sawtry Club and as they were about to leave on a ride we were invited to join them.

Good ride finishing up at Hartford Marina. Thanks must go to the Sawtry Club.

 

5/4/2011 Meeting

 

1. Apologies received from secretary Terry

2. Next meeting on the 19th April will be a run to visit Sawtry Club. Meet Buttercross 6.30pm.

3. Ray is doing a run to Ace Cafe on Monday 25th April and then onto Southend. If anybody is interested please contact Ray.

4. July is the 1000 Bikes at Mallory Park. More information on the net.

5. Wolds Run on Saturday 30th April. Meet at Buttercross 9am for prompt departure.

6. Day of Champions mentioned by Andy before. For those interested tickets are on sale online now.

7. Club 10th Anniversary. Suggested we hold a race night on Saturday 17th September. Final decision to made at meeting on 3rd May so if any alternative suggestions please let us know before or on the night of meeting.

a) BMF, Terry informed us that nothing to date received and he will follow it up if nothing heard. Club members will be required to help at show. Gareth is entering the moped mania.

b) Club 10th anniversary. This event is provisionally booked for the 17th September. All members are asked for their ideas as to the format of this event.

c) Ride on evening Tuesday 19th April hoped to be to visit Sawtry club.

d) Day of Champions is being held on 9/6/11. Tickets as yet not on sale according to Andy if anyone is interested.

e) Other known events, Stafford Classic show 24/25th April. Wolds Run on 30th April. Polar Bear M/C Show at Manea on 26th March.

f) Rideout on Sunday 20th March 10.30am meet Buttercross.

Apologies from Dave and Sue

Club looking to have a sign at front door on meeting nights.

Club has been contacted by Sawtry Club regarding fund raising. Further details to be obtained.

BMF on 14-15 May, club looking to have a stand at show.

Dave Dawney is visiting Scarborough weekend 15 to 18 April if anyone interested..(Racing at Olivers Mount).

Terry has produced list of events at racing circuits which will be put on notice board for those wanting a ride.

Thoughts for anniversary event required, also for rides either evenings or weekend.

 

 

11/1/2011

First meeting of year. Membership fees now due.  £6 single £10 joint.

This year is clubs 10th anniversary so looking for ideas to celebrate the occasion

It is anticipated that there will be a number of rides this year so members support is essential.

Terry has renewed  insurance/affiliation with BMF.

Events as known to date are on rides and events page.

 

 

14/12/10

All agreed that the Christmas Social was successful. Note that there will be no meeting on the 28th December and the next will be on 11th January 2011. 

The club placed a Christmas tree in St Marys church as part of the Christmas Tree Festival.

 

AGM 30/11/10.

1)      Apologies received from Gareth and Sandra.

2)      Minutes from the previous Meeting and AGM distributed to members.  

3)      Chairmans report from David Saddington. Club had arranged a variety of rides during the year. Club had also been represented at both of the local BMF shows.  

4)      Treasurer’s report received from Dave Dawney. Copy of the accounts circulated to members.  

5)      Secretarys report not given as Sandra was not in attendance. Sandra had indicated that she was stepping down as Secretary.  

6)      Committee :- Elections held for the relevant posts to the club committee resulting in the committee being formed as below  

                                                         Chairman proposed as Dave Saddington and seconded by Andy Stimson and duly elected. 

                                                          Vice Chairman proposed as Bob Sailsbury and seconded by Sue Saddington and duly elected.

                                                          Secretary proposed as Terry Boyden and seconded by Donna Snitch and duly elected.

                                                           Treasurer proposed as Paul Foster and seconded by Andy Stimson and duly elected.  

                                                           Webmaster Paul Foster.     

       7) Meetings for 2011. These will continue fortnightly and the first meeting of each month will be designated as the meeting and the other as a Social. 

8)      Membership to remain at £6 for single and £10 for joint membership. Members will be responsible for there own Childers membership renewal.

9)      AOB.   a. Reminder of Christmas social on 11/12/10

                           b. Notice board will be put up ASAP so members aware of events etc.

                     c.  Rides for 2011 being planned and there will be more on Tuesday evenings to coincide with social nights.

               d. Next meeting on 14/12/10 will be a social with buffet and raffle. First meeting in 2011 will be on 11/1/2011.

                           e. Andy mentioned the proposals for continuous insurance which is required if vehicles are not SORN when vehicle not used.

Meeting 16/11/10

2  Minutes from previous meeting. Andy chasing up repair to marquee.

3 Club agreed to put a Christmas tree in St Mary's Church in December. Any member with motorcycle related decorations please bring to AGM. 

4  Kings Lynn Mayor appeal. Two members from club attended and in total the event attracted over 200 bikes Next years event is being held on the 5/11/11.  http://www.mayorsappealrun.com/

6 AGM Tuesday 30th November. It is really important that as many members as possible attend. Refreshments will be provided and a raffle will be held. Prizes for the raffle will be appreciated. SO MAKE A NOTE IN YOUR DIARY, ON YOUR PHONE, COMPUTER OR JUST STICK A NOTE UP.

Meeting 19/10/10

1. Apologies    None received

2. Minutes of previous meeting.  Christmas meal is confirmed for the 10th December at George Hotel. Menus have been obtained for selection of meals.   Click for a copy of menu

3. European directive. Ray made members aware of a proposal by EU regarding motorcycles. These include such things like a) Compulsory MOT style test after accident or owner change. b) Tests more than once a year. c) Tests of vehicles under 3yrs. d) Standardising road worthiness. e) Raising cost of inspections.  As said these are proposals at this time and raised to make members aware.

4. Repairing club marquee. Sandra to check with Andy.

5. AOB. Members reminded of Kings Lynn Mayor appeal on 13/11/10. Those wishing to attend meet at Buttercross 12midday.

Meeting 5/10/10

Christmas social was decided to be held on 10th December and Chairman was going to book this at The George after the meeting. A menu will be collected and those attending will be asked to make selections before event.

Anybody interested in the Kings Lynn Mayors appeal ride, this year it is being held on 13th November.

 

Meeting 21/9/10

Only item on the agenda for this meeting was the Christmas Social. A full discussion took place and as Gareth had sent his apologies an email he had circulated was read out and  discussed. At the end it was decided to try and book The George for the event on either the 10th or 17th December. Dave (Chairman) was going to make the booking and report back at the next meeting.  There was no other matters so meeting was closed.

Rideout to Ashby Folville was held in brillant sunshine. The village was packed with motorcycles and cars of all descriptions. Good ride followed by a drink at Childers.

13/7/10 Meeting

No specific items had been put forward for the agenda.

Those members who attended BMF Kelso show for weekend confirmed all went well and full story to follow.

Reminder next ride is on Sunday 25th July to Foxton Locks.

Details of Craigs funeral given to members.

 

15/6/10  Meeting

Discussion on forthcoming events and rides details of which are on Ride/Event page.

Those intending to go on next years trip to France need to pay deposit to Dave ASAP.

Ray is holding a birthday Barbecue at his home on 27th June all welcome.

 

18/5/2010 Meeting.

22/4/10

Update on BMF.  Sandra has now received confirmation from BMF that we have a stand booked for the event in May. At next meeting on 4th May we will be able to sort out members to man the stand and assist with set up and dismantle.

Meeting 20/4/10

A number of dates sorted for rides over the coming months. Full details on ride/event page which included 27/4/10 Tuesday evening ride, 25/4/10 Sunday ride,11/5/10 Tuesday evening ride,19/6/10 Alderman Jacobs Fete, see events page for full details.

Summer trip will be 26/8//10 to 30/8/10 which members voted for the Lake District.

Summer trip in August 2011 to France. Names and £30 deposit per person to Dave Dawney by end of May 2010.

BMF to date no reply received regarding show in May, Sandra is to chase up. Names of those attending to Sandra.

General discussion then took place. Dave will be making a notice board for club so any events etc can be pinned up. Remember to check Ride/Event for rides.

Social on 6/5/10 but the following matters arose. Ride this coming Sunday 11th to Ducati  at Uppingham meet Buttercross 10.30am with first stop a bacon roll.

Ride on Sunday 18th April which is Rays magical mystery ride, normal time and place to meet.

Sue had details for bank holiday weekend ride to Cotswolds and if you want to go contact her as soon as possible.

Dave Dawney is booking a week away in August 2011 yes that is 2011in France, again if you are interested speak to him soon.

Bike Night 10/3/10

A very successful evening and the Club thanks Balderstons and the other Bike Clubs who attended.

Meeting 23/2/10

1. Visit by BMW on Wednesday 10th March is going ahead. Commences 7.30pm, raffle being held so if members have prize please bring it along. Andy is in process of inviting other local clubs to attend.

2. Discussion on trailer. If we do not find one and enough members want to go to Lincoln later in the year then the club would hire a van.

3. Sandra is contacting organizers of Whittlesey Festival in September for more details.

4. Members then looked at rides for the year. Those confirmed are listed on rides/events page and other suggestions not confirmed included  a.) Day of Champions b.) Club BBQ in August c.) Manx GP d.)29th May to 5th June visit to Normandy, this will be decided at next meeting.

Meeting 9/2/10

2. Still looking for a trailer and Dave had details of some for sale which are to be looked at

3. Evening with Balderstons BMW planned for Wednesday 10th March to be confirmed ASAP. As a result if this goes ahead the meeting on the 9th March will be cancelled and held on the 10th.

4. Sandra looking at arranging for talk from Ride Safe

5. Discussion then on rides and holidays for this year. Suggestions included trip to Cotswolds early May, Isle of Wight end of May and then Devon or Normandy in September. At next meeting on the 23rd February dates to be fixed for these trips or any others suggested by members.

6. Stand to be booked for BMF Tail End show at Lincoln. 

7. Suggest any members who wish to go to BMF show at Kelso contact Sandra or Ray

AGM 1/12/09

1. Apologies from Derek Kenny and Alice Murphy

2. Minutes of 2008 AGM agreed and signed

3. Chairman's report;- Andy thanked all the committee for support over the year and thanks to Ray for filling in as secretary, also thanks to Webmaster, all members who have helped during the year and all staff at Childers for looking after us at our meetings.

Rideouts over the year have been well supported with a variety of interesting destinations. BMF events, Andy has spoken to BMF regarding the lack of feedback to the club who have spent the time in putting on a good club stand. Club also attended a number of open days at schools and motorcycle dealers. Quiz night was well attended but unfortunate more support was not forthcoming from other groups. Andy asked for continuing support for next year to the new committee.

4. Treasurers report given by Dave and balance of account given to club members

5. Secretary's Report,  Ray took over during the year and started a newsletter which all members thought was a good idea and he will continue to produce it.

7. Club constitution to be discussed in the new year with a view to making changes. All members free to put forward ideas for change.

9. Events 2010, Ray has started a calendar of rides and events which will also be on the web site. First ride planned for 2010 will be on the 28th March as an East Coast run. Members agreed to Bike Club competition for 2010.

10. AGM for 2010 will be on the 30/11/10

12. New Chairman Dave thanked all those who had stood over the last year for all the work they had done.
